Homogenization of a modified bidomain model involving imperfect transmission

چکیده

We study, by means of the periodic unfolding technique, homogenization a modified bidomain model, which describes propagation action potential in cardiac electrophysiology. Such allowing presence pathological zones heart, involves various geometries and non-standard transmission conditions on interface between healthy damaged part muscle.

The Electrical Bidomain Model: A Review

Bidomain model is a mathematical representation of the anisotropic electrical properties of cardiac tissue. It is used to simulate cardiac electrical tissue computationally and to study the stimulation of cardiac tissue and defibrillation of the heart. The model is developed using realistic physiological parameter values based on experimental measurement. The first part of this review describes...

Dynamical homogenization of a transmission grating

A periodic assembly of acoustically-rigid blocks (termed ’grating’), situated between two half spaces occupied by fluid-like media, lends itself to a rigorous theoretical analysis of its response to an acoustic homogeneous plane wave. This theory gives rise to two sets of linear equations, the first for the amplitudes of the waves in the space between successive blocks, and the second for the a...

A Bidomain Model for Neural Tissue

Bidomain models have most commonly used to simulate cardiac tissue. They have only infrequently been used to model neural tissue as they are often computationally intensive and other modeling techniques such as the core conductor model are more appropriate for studying phenomena such as propagation in neural systems. A bidomain model of an aplysia abdominal ganglion was created using COMSOL Mul...

investigating the feasibility of a proposed model for geometric design of deployable arch structures

deployable scissor type structures are composed of the so-called scissor-like elements (sles), which are connected to each other at an intermediate point through a pivotal connection and allow them to be folded into a compact bundle for storage or transport. several sles are connected to each other in order to form units with regular polygonal plan views. the sides and radii of the polygons are...
